The Charter Experience

What a Day on the 62 Azimut Actually Feels Like

Your confirmation email carries marina meet-up time and captain contact. The hostess greets you at the gangway with cold refreshments. Your group boards a vessel where the service begins before the lines are cast.

The salon windows frame the Downtown Miami skyline as you clear Government Cut. On the sun deck, the toy package is ready to deploy. At anchor over the sandbar, the Seabob runs first. The jet ski follows when the bay is calm. Paddleboards and snorkel gear come out at your group’s pace.

The 62 Azimut is the first MTWA vessel where the service layer — hostess, refreshments, a full toy package — matches what you experience aboard larger international vessels. Golden hour from the aft deck is Miami at its most cinematic.

On the water: Biscayne National Park is 95% water — one of the largest marine parks in the U.S. National Park System. The 62 Azimut draws on that expanse at anchor. The Bimini escape crosses approximately 50 nautical miles of open Atlantic to reach some of the clearest water in the western hemisphere. All boating operations are maintained in accordance with Florida FWC guidelines.

Logistics & Policies

Everything You Need Before Departure

Marina Meet-Up

Your confirmation email includes the marina meet-up location, arrival time, and captain contact once your charter is reserved. Arrive at least ten minutes early with photo ID.

Arrival Time

Arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled departure. Late arrivals reduce your charter time. Your captain and hostess depart on schedule.

What to Bring

Pack towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, photo ID, and your booking confirmation. Refreshments are included — you are welcome to bring additional food and beverages in soft-sided coolers. No rolling ice chests.

Alcohol Policy

Guests 21 and older may bring additional alcohol with valid ID for verification. On-board refreshments are already included. Soft-sided coolers only.

Water Toy Deployment

All water toys — jet ski, Seabob, paddleboard, snorkel gear, and tubing — deploy when sea and weather conditions allow. Your captain makes the safety call on deployment at each anchor stop.

Gratuity

Gratuity is not included for either the captain or hostess. MTWA suggests a minimum of $50 per hour in cash for the captain, and similar discretion for the hostess based on service level.

Cancellation

Cancellations must be submitted via email to Miamiwateradventures@outlook.com and confirmed in writing. Verbal or social-media requests do not qualify. See the full refund schedule.

Safety & Standards

The Credential Behind Every Departure

Every guest aboard the 62 Azimut travels with a USCG-licensed captain who has earned that credential, not bought it. Felipe’s international cruise-line background set the standard.

  • USCG Master Merchant Mariner Credential

Every MTWA captain holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master Merchant Mariner credential. Credentials are verified through the USCG National Maritime Center — not self-reported. You can verify independently.

  • Bimini & Offshore Safety Protocol

The Gulf Stream crossing to Bimini is an offshore passage requiring a weather-first departure decision. MTWA captains assess sea state, wind, and forecast data before any offshore commitment. Bahamian entry documentation and customs requirements are coordinated prior to departure.

  • Life Jackets & Guest Safety Protocols

USCG-approved life jackets are carried for all guests and required for children under 12 on upper decks while underway. Children under 30 lbs require a parent-supplied fitted jacket. Standards maintained per Florida FWC guidelines.

Frequently Asked Questions

62 Azimut Luxury Yacht — Charter FAQ

What is included in the 62 Azimut charter rate?

Every 62 Azimut charter includes your USCG-licensed captain, a dedicated hostess, round-trip fuel, refreshments, and the full water toy package: jet ski, Seabob, paddleboard, snorkel gear, and tubing. Toys deploy when conditions allow. Gratuity is not included for either the captain or hostess.

How many guests can the 62 Azimut accommodate?

The 62 Azimut accommodates up to 12 guests. The guest count shown in your booking summary at checkout is the governing limit. If your group wants a larger vessel, the 86 Azimut is MTWA’s flagship offering at 86 feet with the same full-service standard.

Can we sail to Bimini, Bahamas on the 62 Azimut?

Yes. MTWA offers a 2-day Bimini, Bahamas escape on the 62 Azimut for $9,000 flat, with overnight stay included. Bimini sits approximately 50 nautical miles east of Miami and is known for some of the clearest Atlantic water in the western hemisphere. The passage is approximately 3–4 hours each way. A weather-first protocol applies. A $3,000 deposit is required at booking. Contact the MTWA team at the contact page to plan a custom itinerary.

What is the deposit and cancellation policy for the 62 Azimut?

Deposits: $500 for the 4-hour charter; $2,000 for the 6-hour or full-day charter; $3,000 for the Bimini 2-day escape. Refund schedule: 100% if cancelled 7+ days before departure; 75% at 5 days; 50% at 72 hours; 25% at 48 hours; no refund within 24 hours. All cancellations must be submitted via email to Miamiwateradventures@outlook.com and confirmed in writing. Full terms at Terms & Billing Conditions.

What makes the 62 Azimut different from the sport yachts?

The 62 Azimut is the first vessel in the MTWA fleet with a dedicated hostess as part of the standard charter. The hostess greets guests at the gangway, manages refreshments, and provides concierge-level service throughout the charter. The full water toy package — jet ski, Seabob, paddleboard, snorkel gear, and tubing — is also included in the flat rate. The sport yachts (40 Sea Ray, 46 Flybridge, 48 Sundancer) do not include a hostess or the full toy package.

Where is the marina meet-up for the 62 Azimut?

Marina meet-up location, arrival time, and captain contact are emailed in your booking confirmation after you reserve through Peek. Arrive at least ten minutes before departure with photo ID and the card used to book. Questions before you pay? Use our contact page.

How does gratuity work on the 62 Azimut?

Gratuity is entirely at your discretion and is never included in the charter rate. MTWA suggests a minimum of $50 per booked hour in cash for your captain, given directly to them. For the hostess, similar discretion is appropriate based on the quality of service you receive. Cash is preferred for both.
